Sarah Lambert
I am a Reflexologist, Shiatsu practitioner and Birth Educator. I specialise in working with pregnant women, supporting them in their journey into parenthood.
After experiencing the benefits of reflexology throughout my pregnancy 15 years ago, I qualified as a Reflexologist in 1997 with the Bristol School of Holistic Therapies and since then I have completed postgraduate courses in Precision Reflexology, Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) and Reflexology in Pregnancy and Labour.
Reflexology is one of the most popular complementary therapies used by women during pregnancy as well as successfully treating fertility issues. It can help ease or prevent many of the conditions commonly associated with pregnancy and is very effective in helping to induce an over due baby. It is also beneficial after the birth, helping you to adapt to the changes as you settle into parenthood. More about reflexology here.
I run baby reflexology classes, teaching parents how to treat their baby to help with teething, sleep, colic, constipation, colds etc. Baby reflexology is also a great way to bond with your child and have some one-to-one time together. For more information go to This Little Piggy
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork based on traditional oriental medicine. It is a holistic therapy working on the body, mind and spirit. It encourages the body to connect with its own healing abilities creating a more harmonious state of well-being and increased vitality throughout pregnancy. In the words of one of my clients:"having shiatsu I discovered a quiet time when I could connect with my unborn child." More about Shiatsu here.
As a "Relaxed Birth and Parenting" Teacher and Doula (birth partner) I support women and their birth partners in making informed choices around birth. I run weekly classes in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to support women in breathing techniques and visualizations. These classes also include gentle yoga based exercises in preparation for the birth. One day workshops are also available for women and their birth partners every 6 weeks.
